Around the world, premium hibiscus leaves are used to make teas/drinks. The hibiscus drink is known by several names – Jamaica, Zobo, Sorrel, rose mallow, roselle, etc.
- In Mexico, hibiscus makes a chilled tea known as Agua de Jamaica (or just Jamaica) which features plenty of sugar to balance the natural tartness
- In Jamaica, hibiscus makes a drink called sorrel, a herbal drink made hot or cold, exceptionally good around the holiday
- In West Africa, Hibiscus makes a drink called Zobo, bissap juice, or Sobolo, sometimes made with pineapple. It can be enjoyed hot or cold; with or without wine; and is sometimes mixed with an overproof rum or other alcohol
